Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is an ever-lasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 ESV
I don't know about you but reading that God doesn't faint or grow weary gives me some encouragement because I definitely do. Sometimes I wake up like oh today, today is gonna be a doozy. And that could be for various reasons: tired, busy, overwhelmed, no sleep, *insert your personal reasons here*. Before I get too far into a complaining mode, I have to remind myself of the blessings I have in that moment (which are too many for me to even consider complaining in the first place but alas, here we are) and make a choice to refocus on God. It's a choice. I can choose to stay in my frustrations or excuses, or I can choose to fix my gaze on the One who doesn't get tired and is inviting all of us to lean on Him for the strength to face each day's challenges.
...Shoot, I hit about 3:00pm and need a little pick-me-up. If the world's well-being was contingent on my ability to be unwaveringly strong and aware.... well, we'd all need an afternoon coffee.
Today I'm thankful to serve and be loved by a God who is everlasting. I'm thankful that I don't have to rely on fellow humans, or myself, for the strength and wisdom needed for each day. I'm thankful that the One who died in my place is the same One I'll spend eternity with.
I'm also willing to give grace in the moments when life feels a little tougher. Let some moments be tough, let them sting. But don't stay there. Jesus died on the cross so we wouldn't have to.
